This is an exercise in molecular visualization. Protein structure information was downloaded from the Protein Data Bank and surface models were generated in VMD. These were arranged in a cellular surface scene depicting the MHCii-T cell receptor interface.

This visualization shows the endogenous and exogenous ligands of Human Cannabinoid Receptor 1, a GPCR that inhibits calcium ion uptake in synaptic terminals. Because its exogenous ligand, Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, is the subject of public interest, more research and visualization is needed.

This model of the hagfish was created to describe the properties of its primary defense mechanism, the secretion of a thick mucus deployed to clog the gills of would-be predators. This slime has also been studied for its unique tensile properties.

Naegleria fowleri, a rare but deadly amoeba found in warm rivers and lakes, can exist in one of three forms depending on its environment. This was a study into the differences in appearance and function of each of these forms. Its entrance to the human body through the olfactory nerves is also indicated.

This is a study into both paleo-art and utilizing alphas and the spotlight tool within Zbrush.

This is a work-in-progress shot of the modeling of the Emerald Cockroach Wasp, an insect known for its unique method of controlling its prey, the cockroach.
